On 17 January 2007, Professor Reimers was elected 1st Vice President of the Consumer Electronics Society (CES) of the IEEE.

 

Prof. Dr. Ulrich Reimers received the Technology Award of the Eduard-Rhein-Foundation for his excellent achievements and contributions relating to the development, standardisation, and technical implementation of Digital Video Broadcasting (DVB) at European level and in several regions outside Europe.

The award ceremony took place on 21 October 2006 in the Ehrensaal of Deutsches Museum in Munic.
