The Institute for Communications Technology (IfN) is part of Faculty 5 for Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Physics of TU Braunschweig.

Currently, 28 scientific assistants (portion of third-party funds 70%) and 11 employees in technology and administration are working at IfN.

Research is supported by students working on their thesis at IfN (in 2018: 42 bachelor and master theses). This corresponds to approx. 20 person-years. There have been working at least 10 research assistents; thus, on average approx. 50 persons are engaged at IfN at the same time.
