Institute for Communications Technology of Technische Universitaet Braunschweig presents three projects at the Next Generation Mobile Networks Industry Conference & Exhibition (NGMN IC&E) October 12-13, 2016:

Tower Overlay: The Tower Overlay over LTE-A+ (TOoL+) approach extends traditional cellular networks by a High Tower High Power layer to deliver popular services such as high-quality video to mobile devices. A demonstrator is presenting network simulations as well as a physical transmission of the proposed system.

SiMoNe is a system-level simulator for realistic mobile radio networks. It supports simulations with a large number of individual user traces, which follow different mobility pattern like vehicular or indoor mobility. On top of the radio network topology different Self-Organizing Network (SON) functions can be used and simulated.

TERAPAN: The frequency range above 275 GHz provides large bandwidths for future 100+Gbit/s data transmissions. In a demonstration, a compact point-to-point 300 GHz-link with electrical beam steering of a highly directive phased array is presented for the first time.
